What is PrivatAI?
PrivatAI is a private document AI that runs on a Mac Mini in your own office. You ask questions in plain language and it answers from your own files, showing the source passage for each answer. It is made by xLabs in Dubai for firms that handle confidential files, such as law firms, consultancies, family offices, accounting and tax firms, private banks, corporate service providers, HR and search firms, clinics, and engineering and real estate firms.
Does PrivatAI send our documents to the cloud?
No. Your documents are loaded onto the appliance in your office and questions are answered there. It can run with the network switched off, and we show this in every demo.
Does PrivatAI train on our documents?
No. PrivatAI retrieves, does not train. It looks up the relevant passages in your files when you ask a question. Your documents are not used to train a model.
Does it cite its sources?
Yes. Each answer shows the passage in your documents it came from, so your team can check it before relying on it.
What happens if the answer is not in our files?
PrivatAI is designed to say the answer was not found rather than guess. Questions the files cannot answer are part of every demo.
Does it work offline?
Yes. PrivatAI can work with Wi Fi off and the cable unplugged. In a demo we switch the network off in front of you before loading any documents.
What hardware does it need?
PrivatAI runs on a Mac Mini that sits in your office as an appliance. There is nothing to install on a server and no outside service to sign up for.
Can it handle Arabic documents?
Arabic text in exhibits can be found and cited, so an answer can point you to the Arabic passage it came from.
Can different clients or matters be kept apart?
Yes. Documents are kept in one collection per client, and the collection a user sees is set by their login.
